Public transit service in the region responds to the public’s need for transportation to jobs, shopping and social opportunities.
- Bedford County
The Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging provides rural transit service to Huntingdon, Bedford and Fulton Counties, with secondary service to medical facilities throughout Pennsylvania and parts of Maryland and West Virginia. The service operates Monday through Friday, except holidays. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, and service is provided on a demand-response system. The majority of riders are 60 years of age or older.
In Breezewood, Bedford County, an intercity bus terminal operates 24 hours a day. Services include on-site maintenance garages, bus parking lanes, ticket sales and a restaurant.
- Fulton County

Fulton County Partnership, Inc. manages the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) which provides Fulton County residents who possess a valid ACCESS card transportation to their medical appointments. The Partnership also manages the Employment Transportation Assistance Program (ETAP) which provides qualifying working Fulton County residents transportation to work. Reservations for both programs must be made in advance.

- Somerset County
Rural transit service is provided by the Somerset County Transportation System (SCTS) and the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP). SCTS provides service in local communities and outlying areas in Somerset and Johnstown. The system provides curb-to-curb service to the general public on a demand-response basis. The MATP, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, provides service to qualified medical facilities for non-emergency medical appointments.
Four bus companies and a taxi company provide transit service in Somerset County. The Debolt-Somerset Bus Company operates three routes from Somerset to Pittsburgh, Cumberland, MD and Johnstown. The Greyhound Bus Company in Somerset Borough offers bus service to points outside the region. The Schrock Sight Seeing Service provides complete bus charter and tour service throughout the United States. The Somerset Taxi Company offers passenger and package pickup and delivery.
