In a global economy that is growing increasingly reliant on technology, access to affordable, high-speed broadband internet is vital for both citizens and businesses when it comes to maintaining a high quality of life and market competitiveness. Studies have shown that the reason for low broadband adoption can be attributed to cost and lack of knowledge of potential benefits. SAP&DC, in collaboration with other local and economic development districts, has developed the Online Business & Technology Training (OBTT) Program, providing access to a suite of online training programs focusing on topics such as Microsoft Office applications, operating systems, e-commerce/e-marketing, computer security, and more. These training programs are aimed towards providing assistance to those wanting to adopt broadband-related technologies, but without the resources to do so. Programs are open to anyone, with attendees ranging from local residents to government employees.
