Two Women Shot Outside the Sheriff’s Office
According to Sheriff Eddy, the suspect first opened fire on two women seated inside a pickup truck parked outside the sheriff’s office building.

- One woman sitting in the front seat was shot in the leg
- The second woman, seated in the back, was also hit in the leg
Both women sustained non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Suspect Enters Lobby and Continues Firing
After shooting the women outside, the suspect walked into the sheriff’s office lobby, which is typically open to the public for routine matters such as filing reports or contacting dispatch.
While inside, the gunman continued firing, striking one officer in the ear. Sheriff Eddy noted it was unclear whether the officer was inside the building at the exact moment he was wounded. Fortunately, the officer’s injury was described as minor.

Multiple law enforcement agencies quickly responded to the active shooter situation, including the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service.
