According to the police, the two suspects attempted to buy items at both Hobby Lobby and The Loft using fake $100 bills. The department has confirmed that the bills used were counterfeit.

As the investigation continues, authorities are focusing on the alleged illegal exchange of counterfeit currency. The police are urging anyone who may recognize the suspects or have additional information about the case to come forward.

Seeking Public Assistance

The Normal Police are requesting tips from the community to help solve the case. If you have any information regarding the suspects or the incident, you can reach out to the Normal Police Department at 309-454-9535 and ask for Officer Castillo.

Holiday Reminder

In the spirit of the season, the Normal Police Department’s press release humorously reminded residents to keep the only fake items this time of year to “ugly sweaters.”

The use of counterfeit currency during the holiday season is a serious issue that can have significant financial consequences for local businesses and shoppers.
