The Normal Police Department is asking for help from the public after a man and a woman were allegedly caught attempting to use counterfeit $100 bills to make holiday purchases at two local stores.
The incidents, which occurred at Hobby Lobby and The Loft in downtown Normal, are currently under investigation.
The Incident
According to the police, the two suspects attempted to buy items at both Hobby Lobby and The Loft using fake $100 bills. The department has confirmed that the bills used were counterfeit.
As the investigation continues, authorities are focusing on the alleged illegal exchange of counterfeit currency. The police are urging anyone who may recognize the suspects or have additional information about the case to come forward.
