Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission Elects New Officers to its Board of Directors in Annual Meeting
The Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC) elected new officers to its Board of Directors during its annual meeting held in January 2025. The newly appointed officers are:
- Honorable Scott Hunt, Cambria County Commissioner – President
- Honorable Randy H. Bunch, Fulton County Commissioner – Vice President
- Mr. Donnie Rhodes, III, Senior Vice President, Sales Manager of Small Business Banking, First National Bank (FNB) – Treasurer
- Honorable J.R. Winck, Bedford County Commissioner – Secretary
“I’ve been deeply involved with SAP&DC, and I’m excited to help guide the organization and our region forward over the next two years. I’m grateful to the Board for their confidence in my leadership.”
Commissioner Hunt becomes the 24th President of SAP&DC’s Board of Directors, succeeding Huntingdon County Commissioner Scott Walls, who served as President for the past two years and has been involved with the Commission since 2020.
“Being elected President of the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission is a tremendous honor,” said Commissioner Hunt. “Since becoming a commissioner, I’ve been deeply involved with SAP&DC, and I’m excited to help guide the organization and our region forward over the next two years. I’m grateful to the Board for their confidence in my leadership.”
A plaque of appreciation was presented to Commissioner Walls by SAP&DC Executive Director, Steven Howsare, in recognition of his dedicated service as President.
Reflecting on his term, Commissioner Walls remarked, “The mission of the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission is to address regional resources, foster job creation and retention, and enhance the quality of life for residents of the Alleghenies. SAP&DC plays a crucial role in building the framework for our region’s progress.”
The SAP&DC Board of Directors comprises 19 members, including two commissioners from each of the Commission’s six constituent counties, and seven at-large members selected in accordance with the organization’s by-laws.
