Overview: SAP&DC completed a Recovery and Resilience Plan that assessed the impact of COVID-19 on the Region and provided a framework for guiding our response efforts. It also complements SAP&DC’s recently completed 2020-2024 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). The Plan was completed with the assistance of Points Consulting, an economic consulting firm located in Moscow, Idaho.
The Recovery and Resilience Plan addresses the regional economic impacts of COVID-19, examines the region’s current economic condition, and describes how existing economic and social assets can be used in developing a regional resiliency framework. The Plan uses these findings to explore what future opportunities exist for the region and aids SAP&DC’s efforts in attracting new remote workers to the region, reaping the benefits of a hybrid workforce, and positioning itself to be a resilient regional economy in the coming decades. As part of this effort, the plan describes the stakeholders, organizations, and programs that assist with implementation activities. The plan identifies potential stakeholders in the region’s business community, local government, school districts, and post-secondary education institutions that can help SAP&DC’s disaster recovery efforts.
