Southern Alleghenies RPO Announces Public Comment Period for the Draft Title VI Compliance and Implementation Plan, Draft Public Participation Plan (PPP) and Draft Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan
The Draft Title VI Compliance and Implementation Plan outlines how the Southern Alleghenies Rural Planning Organization (RPO) adheres to anti-discrimination policies established in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other relevant statutes. It provides information on procedures the RPO uses to address alleged acts of discrimination in its transportation-related services and programs. Two other plans are included: the Draft Public Participation Plan (PPP) and the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan.
The Draft PPP describes the RPO’s strategy to inform and involve the public in the transportation planning process. It serves as a guide for public participation activities for transportation-related public meetings or plans, including the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and other transportation-related plans or projects.
The Draft LEP develops procedures to ensure that LEP individuals have access to information and services provided by the RPO. The plan includes a needs assessment, identifies individuals who may need language assistance, and outlines the resources and services available to assist them.
