The Economic Development Administration (EDA) focuses on generating new jobs, retaining existing jobs, and stimulating industrial and commercial growth in economically distressed areas based on recognized regional priorities. Eligible project types include water and sewer facilities serving industry and commerce, access roads to industrial parks or sites, port improvements, business incubator facilities, and feasibility/needs assessments.
EDA projects must comply with the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). The program is open to states, political subdivisions of a state, Indian tribes, special-purpose units of state or local governments, or public or private nonprofit organizations.
SAP&DC requires that a Project Profile Form (see below) be submitted for consideration. EDA reviews project proposals on a quarterly basis. Potential applicants should contact Zackary Lee, Community & Economic Development Program Manager at zlee@sapdc.org
